I just finished watching "Les Choristes". I have owned the soundtrack for many months now after discovering it at Barnes and Noble. It is a French movie so it has subtitles (never a problem for me as I grew up watching foreign subtitled movies). I know that many poeple don't like watching a movie with subtitles cause it means they have to read. And of course it does mean that your mind has to be active the whole time reading and a drawback is that you don't always catch everything that is going on in the cinematography since you have to focus on the reading part of it. But that just means you may have to watch it several times. I love to hear the language as I watch.
I truly enjoyed watching this movie, the story, the music, the language everything. So to any of you looking for a nice touching movie to watch, check this one out. It helps to refocus ones perspective on those considered worthless or hopelessly bad and how to treat them. Interesting indeed for me as I work with all these prisoners who have done some truly horrid things, so it is on a slightly different scale than this movie, but the principle is the same.
On other topics, I am still here in Raleigh. Can't say that I have done anything too exciting lately. I really need to start getting out and doing some more things around here exploration wise. I definitely want to get out and drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and see some more of the mountains. The time just goes so quickly and all my weekends are taken up from now, through September 10th when I return from Brazil. Yes, I am going to Brazil, for those of you who don't already know, and I am so excited. It is definitely time again for me to spend some time in another country. The urging usually becomes very strong around the 1 year mark and it is a little over that now already. I also decided to stay another assignment here in Raleigh, mostly for convenience sake. After this assignment though I am definitely going to be moving on somewhere else. Who can say where?
Ah well, anyway, I am getting rather sleepy and I feel that my writing is disjointed and probably not making much sense so I will stop here.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves
full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners--of whom I am the
worst. But for that very reason I was shown
mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners,
Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience
as an example for those who would believe on him
and receive eternal life.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God,
be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen

reflecting on friendship
past, present and future.
purest joy, deepest heartache.
why do peoples lives have to
take seperate paths?
why can't we always go on
sharing everything?
why must things change?
why must we grow up?
missing the presence of all
those who are a part of me,
my heart aches.
